"The Wind That Shakes The Barley" by Ken Loach

Hi!

Today I'm going to talk about the movie "The Wind That Shakes The Barley", made in 2006 by the director Ken Loach.

The film sorprise me because I didn't know about the conflict bewteen the irishs and englands, and this movie gives a perpective more intime about the riot and after civil war from the common people like farmers and workers.

The character of Damien is very interesting because he progress throughout the film. He starts with prosperous oportunity  of work and profesional future, but when he saw the violence of the soldiers from United Kingdom, he decide to join to the revolutionarys.

I liked about the film how the two brothers represent, for one part the radicalization for the complete freedom of irish, and for other part the conformism for the politics resolution to the conflict.I don't liked about the film that don't have to much women's character,  only Sinead is prominent.

My favorite scene to the film is the  final, when Teddy kill to his brother, Damian, in the firing squad. I think that is the climax of the story and it's too much simbolics to the process of the moment. I felt so much empathy for both! but that it's the idea of the scene and it's good achieved.
